Breakfast in a Blender



Have you ever tried a smoothie for breakfast?  I have and I can tell you it's really delicious.  
I am on the school Cross Country team so I have been trying to eat healthier by eating protein with every meal.  This is perfect for not only breakfast but for lunch too!  



Breakfast in a Blender

Recipe from The Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook

Ingredients~
1 scoop vanilla protein powder- or your choice of flavor
1/3 c. dry oatmeal
2/3 c. water or milk
1 Tbsp. peanut or almond butter
1 large or 2 small frozen bananas
2 Tbsp. applesauce
1 Tbsp. flax seed (whole is fine)
1 Tbsp. wheat germ
3/4 c. ice cubes
And don't forget!~ a small pinch of salt



Instructions~  Blend all ingredients.  Drink your breakfast!

  1. We make smoothies in the morning sometimes, but usually just fruit. I am going to try this recipe for sure and start adding some of these things in other smoothies as well to make them more beneficial to my day and health. Thanks!
